Mangawhaished

Tony Flack

After 40+ years in the DP, EDP, and IT domain, it has been nice to retire to
Mangawhai.

I first became interested in wooden technology when I left school and became a
hammer-hand on commercial sites in Auckland. 50 years later I am once again
picking up the tools and am really enjoying it in our shed environment.

We bought our property back in 2010 (almost counts as a local), and I have been
involved in various local community projects, including MHRS sand fence
building on the spit.

I love the way that the shed provides a welcoming environment for Men and
Women to come and get involved, if only for a natter at morning tea, if that’s
what’s required.

Being elected into the role of treasurer for the shed has given me many
challenges already, but that’s the nature of the beast.

I look forward to the shed’s expansion, and thereby providing more support to our
age group in Mangawhai.
