The Mangawhai Shed

The workshop is open each Friday from 10.00am at 206 Cames Rd, Mangawhai 0975

The Mangawhai Shed has few resources of its own currently. We acknowledge the generosity of our community who have already donated so much to our cause.

The Shed team is working hard to progress our ambitions for a community workshop locally. Until then we remain grateful to one member who is our temporary host.

These premises are private property. You are welcome to bring your own tools and equipment to promote your own craft ambitions. Any sharing of resources are arranged and agreed between individuals; no claims for loss or damage will be accepted by either the Mangawhai Shed or the proprietor.

To be the preferred centre for sharing and developing our passion for practical projects in the Mangawhai area.

To provide and maintain a forum and physical location where men and women, young and old can share skills and make friends. To support and enhance members’ skills and well-being. To use the collective knowledge and skills of members to support community projects.

I've got my own shed but I love coming down to meet other people

I joined 'The Shed' after recently retiring and moving to the Mangawhai area. My vocational background is in engineering and more recently in horticulture. While I have always enjoyed the acquisition and dispersement of skills which The Shed offers it is not the principal reason for joining the jolly crew but rather for the company of the jolly crew. Both retirement and shifting to a new area can be daunting; when taken as a double helping it is more so. In this respect and in others the weekly meetings at 'The Shed' has helped ease an otherwise difficult time.
